The American Library Association announced the 2007 award winners! I know, maybe not that exciting to non-librarians...but it's one of the biggest days for us. Here are some of the results:
Newbery - The Higher Power of Lucky by Susan Patron (huh, never even heard of it!)
Caldecott - Flotsam by David Wiesner
Printz - American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang (young adult, a GRAPHIC NOVEL, HOORAY! I'm currently reading it)
The Stonewall Awards won't be announced until tonight. I'd love to serve on one of those... but I'd need to start getting published, or at least having published reviews to get there. Maybe there's enough on my plate right now...
